Defining API Strategy is supposed to be a MUST HAVE for a company that wants to succeed in their API Program, but it becomes a NICE TO HAVE for them, it is a choice… or a lack of guidance…
how to define the API Strategy that suits to your organization:
With Ketty Zakariasy | 10:15-11:00 CET
You are an API product manager, architect, director of engineering, or CTO in charge of your organisation’s API program. You need to launch or dramatically improve the speed and quality of the program and address Day 2 concerns, such as API change management. But where do you begin? On the one hand, many API tool vendors promise that adopting their tool suite will solve your problems. On the other hand, you are presented with many nice-looking API platform maturity models that do not offer you a clear path to improvement, given your organisation’s unique situation.
In this talk, I present an operating and capability model for high-quality, high-speed API product delivery to help you dramatically improve your organisation’s API program.
With Ikenna Nwaiwu | 11:30-12:15 CET
Maintaining API quality and consistency over time can be challenging. New APIs are developed, and existing ones are constantly modified. DevOps practices can be applied throughout the entire API lifecycle to maintain quality and security. This session presents an alternative to Full API Lifecycle Management products using a DevOps perspective with available tools like git and CI/CD pipelines. Participants will learn how to use pipelines to automate the API lifecycle, organize APIs and artifacts, and use tools to validate APIs for quality, backward compatibility and guidelines, and how to enforce security policies in design and production. Join the session and learn how to apply DevOps principles to APIs.
With Thomas Bayer | 14:30-15:15 CET
The session aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to establish a robust API Governance Strategy. We’ll delve into the concept of API Governance, exploring its importance in creating a reliable and secure API landscape. Gain practical tips for building a framework that fosters collaboration and maximizes the value of your APIs.
The agenda dives deep into the API Design Guide, ensuring consistency across your API portfolio. Additionally, we’ll shed light on effective governance workflows, outlining the who, what, and how of successful API management.
