How can we keep the web open and inclusive, with a low barrier for entry? PHP has always played a big part in helping people express themselves online. This keynote will discuss how to fight back against the encroaching Web3 and put the “WE” back in the “WEB”!
The original promise of the Web was always that anyone and everyone could contribute and do their own thing. And PHP played a big role in that giving people very low-friction ways to start expressing themselves on the Internet. But recent technological and sociotechnological movements are pushing for a more exclusive web by raising the barrier for entry and forcing individual people and SMEs out of the business.
How are “AI”, Metaverse and Web3 harming the open, inclusive web and how can we as communities interested in that fight back?
